Michael Allen graduated from Queen’s University in 1964 and received his Master’s degree from the University of Illinois in 1965. He joined the firm of Adjeleian and Associates in 1965 as a design engineer. Mr. Allen became a partner of the firm in 1972.

Mr. Allen is responsible for numerous projects in his 41 years with the firm including; hospitals, schools, offices, residential buildings, sports facilities and industrial projects. Amongst his most prestigious projects are the Toronto SkyDome in which his retractable roof concept was instrumental in securing as the design commission for the project, and the award winning Canadian War Museum.

Mr. Allen has served on numerous professional committees, has published many professional papers and served a nine year term as adjunct Professor at Carleton University.

Michael Allen has received numerous awards and prizes in his career, including the Governor General’s Medal and the Professional Engineers Gold Metal at graduation from Queen’s University, the Gsowski Medal, Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario Medal for Engineering Excellence, the Institute of Structural Engineers, London, UK for the Toronto SkyDome, the Tsuboi Prize and an Engineering News Record Citation. In 2004, he was made an honourary Member of the Association of Ontario Architects.

Currently, Mr. Allen is the President of Adjeleian Allen Rubeli Limited.



Bruce Neil graduated with distinction from Queen's University at Kingston in 1974. Following 6 years as a Design Engineer in the firm's Ottawa office, Mr. Neil relocated to Toronto to open a new office there for the firm.

Mr. Neil has experience in a diverse range of project size and types, with a heavy emphasis on high-rise residential condominiums. He has been the Project Engineer for building projects in numerous Provinces across Canada, within the United States, and overseas - notably the Canadian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, two arena projects in mainland China, and a peer review of the Skybridge connecting the twin towers in Kuala Lumpur, the tallest buildings in the world. Mr. Neil played a lead role in the management of the design team for the Toronto SkyDome, and has served on the City of Kanata Design Review Committee, and Queen's University Advisory Council on Engineering.

  



Michael Petrescu-Comnene started his professional career in Europe. He is a graduate of the Construction Institute of Bucharest, Romania, where he graduated with a Master Degree in 1974. His career included structural design projects in Romania and in Germany. In 1983 after 8 years of experience in Europe, he joined Adjeleian Allen Rubeli Limited. Michael joined the design department and quickly got involved in the Construction review and administration services. In 1986 he became a Professional Engineer and a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario Association. He was the resident Site Engineer for the construction of the National Museum in Ottawa, and Nepean Civic Square. Mr. Petrescu-Comnene moved quickly from the Design Engineer position to Senior Designer and later to Project Engineer level. In 2000 he became a Partner at Adjeleian Allen Rubeli Ltd. He is responsible for design and management of services for major buildings.

Michael Petrescu-Comnene has an extensive experience in a wide range of project types. In recent years, he was involved in major Heritage Rehabilitation Projects and Health Care work. Some of his prominent heritage projects are the rehabilitation of the Library of Parliament, and The Chambers Complex, in Ottawa. He was involved in the redevelopment projects of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Queensway Carleton Hospital, and Kingston General Hospital. Other projects completed include office buildings, schools, research and testing laboratories.

Mr. Petrescu-Comnene is a key member of the Adjeleian team, a leader in the development of new concepts, always interested in developing innovative and efficient design to meet our Client's expectations.

  



Peter Chang graduated from McGill University with a Master of Engineering degree in 1986 and has been with Adjeleian Allen Rubeli Ltd. since completing his studies.

Mr. Chang’s steady rise in the firm from a design engineer to a project engineer culminated in a full partnership in 2000. His diverse experience in building structures range from low and high rise structures and include office buildings, schools, industrial facilities and hotels. In addition to projects in Canada, he has been the Project Engineer on buildings in the United States as well as overseas, most notably the Celtic Manor Hotel and Conference Centre in Wales, UK.

Along with Mr. Chang’s responsibilities as Project Team Leader for major projects, he is also fulfilling the role as the Project Engineer on numerous Design-Build Projects across Canada.
