The Chambers Office Development

The Chambers Office Development is an office and retail complex which features the renovation and retrofit of the Central Chambers and Scottish Chambers, two heritage structures on Elgin Street, between Queen and Sparks Streets, in Ottawa. The retrofit of the heritage buildings included strengthening to resist seismic design forces. The Bell Block Façade located between the other two Heritage Buildings, was retained and temporarily supported, while the e storey Bell Building was demolished. The Façade was then attached to the reinforced concrete structure of the new Office Tower. New construction included an infill 18 storey office tower and underground parking structure.
